You may no longer need to wait for your monthly electricity bill!
Since 2017, UPPCL has introduced “Trust Billing”, allowing consumers to generate their own electricity bills online. Through this facility, consumers can enter their meter readings and maximum demand directly on the official UPPCL portal to instantly generate their bills.
This initiative was made possible after the Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC) approved the concept of trust billing in the 7th Amendment of the UP Electricity Supply Code – 2005, dated 21 May 2016.What Is Trust Billing?
What Is Trust Billing?
“Trust Billing” empowers consumers by trusting their self-submitted readings. Instead of waiting for the meter reader’s visit, consumers can log in and enter their current meter reading to get their electricity bill generated instantly.
However, to ensure accuracy and prevent misuse, a penalty clause has been introduced. If the actual reading stored in the meter is found to be higher than the reading submitted by the consumer, a penalty of 1.5 times the energy charge per excess unit will be applied.
Eligibility Criteria for Self Bill Generation
Not all consumers are eligible for this feature. The following conditions must be met:
- Sanctioned Load: Up to 9 kW
