Electricity Department of Uttar Pradesh (referred as UPPCL) announces One Time Settlement scheme for electricity bill defaulters. Domestic, private tubewell of all loads and commercial defaulter consumers of up to 5 KW loads may avail 100% surcharge waiver on electricity dues, provided consumers clear their arrears at one go. Though, defaulters may get maximum 6 installment facilities to clear their dues. If principal dues is more than 1 lacs, defaulters may get maximum 12 installment facility. It will be applicable to farmers (PTW consumers), domestic and commercial consumers (up to 5 KW load) and they can avail of the same between 01.06.2022 to 30.06.2022. Rebate will be given on surcharge till 30.04.2022.

What is the new in this OTS?
A registration fee is not required this time. Consumers may directly avail of the rebate/surcharge waiver. Suppose, a consumer is having a total of Rs.12000 dues including a 2000/- surcharge. He has to pay Rs. 10000/- only in one go. Earlier, the consumer has to register first with some the payment of registration fee.
Consumers may like to raise the bill revision request at concerned electricity office, CSC center or himself can request for correction by visiting the MY CONNECTION link of https://upenergy.in

Eligible Consumers

• Farmers Private Tubewell Connection (LMV5) - All loads - 100% surcharge waiver
• Domestic Connection (LMV1) - All Loads - 100% surcharge waiver
• Commercial connection (LMV2) - Up to 5 KW - 100% surcharge waiver

Installments: Defaulters may get maximum 6 installments up to principal dues of 1 lacs and if principal dues exceeds the amount 1 lacs, they may get maximum 12 installments.

How to know about the surcharge waiver amount under this OTS Scheme
There is a web portal where consumers could find their OTS details. You need to find the details by ACCOUNT ID. It will display whether the consumer is eligible for an OTS rebate or not.
